The meaning behind the painting:
Stacy is: the artist, the teacher, the writer, the mother, the spouse, the humorist, the questioner, the creator, and many other titles. Where does one stop? That is why the list is ended with an ellipses (three dots). It signifies Stacy’s ability to continue to define and redefine herself as time goes on. The hand holds either a pen or a paintbrush, both of which represent her involvement in writing and painting.
I started with “to be, to do” because those phrases can evoke profound questions; the types of questions that people ask themselves only when they are brave enough to live an examined life. Stacy is a strong willed individual who has the fortitude to ponder life’s enigmatic questions and ensuing answers.
