The meaning behind the painting:
Equality!
Its definition is, to say the least, multi-faceted: Yin/Yang, Masculine/Feminine, North/South, East/West, Strong/Soft, Light/Dark, and the
list is eternal.
Stacy embodies the principle of equality. She believes in it. She lives it.
When I think of the many facets of Stacy’s persona, one that readily comes to
mind is her drive to maintain the equality of the sexes. This equality sign is representative of that. It is also a symbol for balance. She strives for a balanced and fair approach to “all things considered”.
The edges of the equality sign are not clearly defined, and thus, they represent
the segments of our society where we continue to confront the true meaning of equality for all.
And, like Stacy & Bryan, the two lines that comprise the symbol are parallel, oriented in the same direction in life, and do not exist within the other’s shadow.
